Belly Dance Your Way to Cardio

Belly Dance Your Way to Cardio Review

I am usually a fan of Amira Mor, but I did not enjoy this video as much as her others, namely her "Belly Dance for Energy" video. This video offers a great workout with a series of simple shimmy drills, starting with lower body shimmies, and moving on to shoulder and traveling shimmies.

Almost the entire time, Amira Mor instructs the viewer to dance on their tip toes and execute the shimmies. I just don't believe that doing so is completely safe for the viewer. Also, Amira Mor begins to lax in detailed instruction at the end of the cardio section. It felt like a "follow the leader" game. She also forgets to remind the viewer on proper posture when executing these shimmies. The workout pace does get the heart racing and is adequate.

I enjoyed the choreography section, which teaches the viewer a drum solo. However, Amira Mor teaches almost the same choreography that was featured in her "Energy" DVD. The moves are the same, except she added a little bit of floorwork to the choreography. This disappointed me, because moves like the "Champagne" (a basic hip circle with a level change), and the "Sphinx" (fast head movements) are repeated in this DVD as in the "Energy" DVD, among other movements. Maybe the similarities between each choreography make both much easier to learn, but I would have preferred completely new material compared to her other DVDs.

I enjoyed Amira Mor's performance at the end of the DVD, but there are a few criticisms I must make of it. She dances to a techno beat, and her jazz background really shines through her performance, which I liked. However, there is a segment where she does a little bit of floorwork, and it seemed too provocative to me, especially with the gyrations and shoulder shimmies. She uses zills, which are not included in the DVD's sound. So, it seemed pointless for her to play the zills in the first place. She does do a few of the moves that were popular a few decades ago, which is fine, but I would not feel comfortable doing some of these moves in public. They are hard to describe, almost like "Peak-a-boo", provocative movements. I that's a poor choice of words. I did like how her dancing was full of energy though.

The other dancers featured in the background of the video offered a chance for the viewer to see how the moves are executed on different body types. This was wonderful to see, but some of the other "older" dancers were shoved into the background so that they were barely visible. Also, the other background dancers executed less perfected techniques. For example, they shook their shoulders at the same time as they shimmied, which is not proper isolation technique. It was just little things like this that bothered me.

The final segment of the performance featured the other background dancers in the DVD with the Wings of Isis. Amira Mor's turns with the wings and dancing was very lovely, and so were the other dancers' performances. However, some of the dancers appeared lost with the Wings of Isis choreography, and looked at each other to see what steps to do next.

If you are searching for a workout video, and do not own any of Amira Mor's previous videos, this might be a great choice. But, I do not believe that dancing on one's tiptoes and doing shimmies for such a lengthy period is healthy for the knees. Taking the video at one's own pace is probably preferred.

HIP HOP ABS DANCE PARTY - Cardio Groove & Booty Shakin' Workouts - Includes 5 Minute Ab Blaster - Shaun T

HIP HOP ABS DANCE PARTY - Cardio Groove & Booty Shakin' Workouts - Includes 5 Minute Ab Blaster - Shaun T Review

The time flies by when doing these two workouts. Both workouts are about 40 minutes, with a 5 minute "putting it all together" section. I prefer the first 40-minute workout, "Cardio Groove," to the other "Booty Shakin'" workout because I find the choreography a bit easier to follow and "let loose" in. I especially enjoy the 5 minute "putting it all together" segement, becaue if I feel particularly energetic, then I can do it more than once. There are a couple of mistakes made throughout, where Shuan forgets to do a couple of moves in sequence, but he quickly redirects us to the next move. Overall, the workout is a terrific cardio routine, and definitely makes you sweat. But it is definitely not a weight-training workout at all. I have incorporated light hand-held weights to add a little resistance and have benefitted from this. I would recommend this DVD to anyone looking for a fun, fast-paced, easy to follow cardio workout. The time just flies by!

The New Method 20/20 Series: Core Cardio

The New Method 20/20 Series: Core Cardio Review

While I agree with other reviewers that this is not a heart pumping, high intensity workout it is certainly NOT a waste of money. I find this DVD quite effective and use it frequently as a warm up for yoga, Pilates, and higher intensity cardio workouts. The routines are fun and easy to follow once you have done them once or twice. Not being a dancer, I felt quite accomplished after mastering each routine. I particularly like Lisa Wheeler's segment. It's more challenging and organized than Tracy Mallet's (Tracy has a bent knee twist move which is a bit rough on my weak knees and on which she messes up some of her cues).

My biggest complaint about this DVD is that the Pilates "cool downs" are fairly worthless. The transition between the dance segment and the mat work is virtually nonexistent. I only do the Pilates work when using this workout as a warm-up for more Pilates or yoga.

On days when I wake up in the morning and don't want to do ANYTHING this DVD motivates me with its light and fun moves, making it vastly more valuable than my most challenging and extensive workout that I can only bring myself to do once or twice a month.

The New Method 20/20 Series: Core Cardio Overview

If you're a well-coordinated, intermediate-level aerobic dancer and you enjoy highly choreographed dance routines, you'll like this video. The first of the two 20-minute workouts consists of complex, jazzy dance patterns built into a routine. Lisa Wheeler will lead you through hip-walk, knee-pop, pivot, and pose with plenty of attitude. Tracey Mallett leads the second workout, also jazzy, with more Latin moves. The instructors, who are joined by six young (and impossibly slender) women, don't teach as much as demonstrate, so it's helpful if you have some dance background. Live musicians play, but their music seems too subdued to match the energy or flavor of the dance routines. Both workouts end with abdominals and a brief stretch. Recommended for aerobic dancers who like choreography challenges and have an easy time picking them up. Coordination and mobile hips required. --Joan Price

Paula Abdul - Cardio Dance

Paula Abdul - Cardio Dance Review

I've had this video for about a year and I work out to it very frequently. The reason? The steps are fun, Paula's energy is infectious and the routine at the end is really fun. It's an awesome way to get your heart rate going and burn fat. I have every type of workout video that there is. Some are too simple in the way that they wouldn't burn enough calories to be worth your time. Others are so hard you dread doing them. Paula is just right.

Paula Abdul - Cardio Dance Feature

Paula Abdul - Cardio Dance Overview

Who said exercise has to be like work? This is a workout for people who want to have fun! Paula Abdul brings you the best of her own unique style in this dance-packed cardio workout, followed by lower body toning and a dancer's stretch. Count on it, you'll break a sweat, AND, you'll get in shape. The cardio segment is taught dance-class style, a segment at a time, then you'll put it all together at the end. Paula teaches each routine slowly, then speeds it up to tempo. Paula's style of dance - classy yet funky and "edgy" choreography - looks challenging, yet the basic steps are simple. She makes the transitions between steps so smooth, you'll be into the next move without even knowing how you got there. Plus, if you're a "footwatcher," you'll have the advantage of watching the steps in reverse, with Paula facing the same direction as you learn. In the lower body toning segment, be ready for some classic dance-inspired exercises to tone and define your thighs, buttocks and calves. These exercises are moves that dancers use as part of their core training.

Tired of boring cardio routines? Walking on the treadmill for 30 minutes is not my idea of fun. There are much better ways to a great cardio workout to get super fast and effectively. This is by jumping rope. You probably remember to do it as a child in school. Now let me tell you, it's not just for kids! Here are just a few reasons why you should go get a rope and try it out.

Dirt Cheap

The majority of cardio equipment can range from a few hundred dollars toa few thousand. A jump rope on the other side, you should not cost more than $ 10. That's a pretty amazing deal for a piece of cardio equipment. You can save a collection of every sport or suitability. Some department stores also have them in stock. You do not need the leather on those who can use boxers. A cheap plastic an equally work well. You can press it for one of these probably here for a few dollars.

Use it Anywhere

A rope can be used directlyoverall. You can at home indoors and out. You can also use a local park or at the gym. To throw it in your pocket or handbag and take it with you wherever you go. They are also ideal for sneaking in a quick cardio workout on your lunch break.

The only restriction is if a jump rope inside, you must make sure that the ceiling is high enough. The typical 8 or 9-foot ceiling is not high enough, unless you are really short. For home use, you are better off jumpingRope in the open or in the garage.

Fast Workout

Until you've tried it, you will not believe how quickly a jump rope to get your heart pumping. You want to start with just the first few times, and limit yourself to very short training sessions. Only 5 or 10 minutes will do it. Trust me, you will be sweating buckets in that short time!

Cardio For Six Pack Abs

Cardiovascular training or cardio as we know it is an aerobic solution that will allow for more oxygen pumped through the body and thus more energy, muscle or burn fat. Recent research suggests that if you six pack stomach and a body like a 100-meter runner, like, less really is more. So whats the best heart for a six-pack.

HIT - High Intensity Interval Training.

What is it? Well, it basically makes you work harder with less time. So forget aboutThe ancient idea of spending hours on the treadmill. All you really need is 20 minutes, to a varied pace. Here's the reason, a new study showed that long steady state may actually start burning muscle for cardiac energy. Now your muscles fat burner that is yes, the more muscle mass you have the higher metabolism. Why do you want to burn your muscles?

On the other hand HITT is anaerobic, like weight training, is because the intensity varies. After a workout your resistanceMetabolism is continuously increased, as it tries to repair your body. Enter the interval training, which is exactly the same. After slow and boring low intensity cardio your metabolism returns to normal, however with HITT your body's' metabolism is raised up to the next 24 hours, sometimes up to 48 hours! To train with intensity.

So when it comes to a Six-Pack-heart to go the next time your gym on your chosen cardio machine or jogging ... try this. For the next 20 minutes --

Warm up for 4 minutes.
Run at 8.0 kmh for 1 minute (your level 6-7)
Walk or slow jog at 5-6 kmh for 2 minutes your (Level 5)
Run at 9.0 kmh for 1 minute (your level 7-8)
Walk or slow jog at 5-6 kmh for 2 minutes your (Level 5)
Run at 10.0 km / h for 1 minute (your level 8-9)
Walk or slow jog at 5-6 kmh for 2 minutes your (Level 5)
Run at 11.0 km / h for 1 minute (your level 9-10)
Walk or slow jog at 5-6 kmh for 2 minutes your (Level 5)
Cool down for 4 minutes.

Aboutis a hill style of HITT training. There are many more. Finally, I would like to ask a question when it comes to six pack abs heart. Would you prefer to look like a marathon runner, running at a steady constant rate over a long period of time or you want to be like a muscle 100m sprinters look look?
